I saw the Signs

In some horoscopes,
What's your sign?
via
I'm a Gemini; yet in some and according to my favorite astrologer Susan Miller, I'm a Cancer. Confused, eh?

Prince William was born on a cusp, too.

In astrology, June 21st falls on what is called a "cusp"; if you were born "on a cusp", it means "you will incorporate the energies of both signs."

Wow, to be Gemini/Cancer is like to have 3 bodies -- Gemini being twins, having dual nature + there's the personality of Cancer. ~Big deal.~

What I do? I read both forecasts.

Betch

A close and dear friend and I call each other "betch." But we're nowhere like one, behavior-wise, really.

Until I saw this article on Buzzfeed (I Buzzfeed a lot, fyi),  "21 Signs You’re A True Betch."

Quiet frankly, I met the following signs:

#2 You can’t help but have a bored, rude resting face.
So true, methinks.

#3 You can’t handle the thought of not having your daily iced coffee.
This, often. But mine is the regular hot coffee. Recently, I'm trying my best to have only one dose a day or to alternate my consumption.

#9 You comment “fomo” on the picture of your friends hanging out without you

#10 You have ambiguous feelings about people 99% of the time.

Only sometimes.

#11 You believe napping is the solution to all of your problems.

LOL.

#17 You don’t listen to people who tell you to stop watching bad shows like The Bachelor.

There's a reason why there's  a thing called "guilty pleasure."

#21 You believe this wholeheartedly:

21 Signs You're A True Betch
I guess, we have too, betch or not betch.

The Royal Birthday-Mates

George Alexander Louis being born on July 22nd means that in our family there are now two who have the same birthdays with two royals of the same House -- the House of Windsor, that is. Also born and had recently celebrated another year on that day was my mother.

Well, the other one is me. I share the same birthday with William, the Duke of Cambridge, no less.

Cinemalaya Year 9

The country's premier independent film festival is one of the reasons why it's nice to be living in Metro Manila. Yet I like-to-the-core my laid-back life. That, and I get claustrophobic from time to time.

If I were to watch the line-up of films in Cinemalaya (now on its 9th year), here are my Six Picks:

Ekstra
Because: Our female Arnold Schwarzenegger (read: star-turned-politician), Gov. Vi doing indie and playing a film extra is a breathe of fresh air and ironic as well.

Quick Change
Because: It's a take of a transwoman in love.

The Diplomat Hotel
Because: Horror story is my frenemy.

Rekorder
Because: It looks like a horror-thriller story which is my frenemy.

Debosyon
Because: The setting is Bicol (my region), and the director and production team members are Bicolanos. Support! There's Ina, Nuestra Señora de Peñafrancia. And Paulo Avelino.

And did I already mention Paulo Avelino?

Instant Mommy
Because: One cannot miss a Eugene Domingo-starrer in Cinemalaya.

In college, I had thought about naming my future adopted or surrogate daughter: Georgiana (after Duchess Georgiana Canvendish) Gertrude (after reading the name — full name: Gertrude Beckett — during a class on Jose Rizal’s life). As I would like to keep the family tradition of first names that starts with E (all my brothers’s names start with E) I have thought of the name Emmanuelle. (It should have been the name of my youngest sister. Wouldn’t it sound chic?)Meanwhile, I will name Emmanuelle Georgiana Gertrude’s twin brother: Erran Eight Godfrey. Ah, ~thoughts~.
Here's an update:

Now, being a sloth in front of the computer on a breezy Sunday morning, I saw the name Elgar and I'm considering it as an additional name for my #futureson Erran Eight Godfrey.

Elgar after Menswear Fashion Editor of i-D magazine Elgar Johnson.

Just because it sounds like my first name.

I'm ~board~. Hahaha.

YASSSSSSS

It's official: singing I'm feeling 22 now will always be nothing but just a feeling as I have turned  plus one (1) from that previously-mentioned number.

I find it somehow unusual that I didn't hold the usual blues that I had in the years before. This picture I saw in tumblr quite sums the feeling up:

I'm happy about my career F5.

I'm good with my social commitment and I have been praying for us, with God's grace, to  be able to do more for others.

No love life, that's the bummer part. Though my heart beating fancily these days. ;-)

Please let it be known that I’m super thankful to everyone who greeted me on my birthday. Special mention to the one who gave the most swell b-day message I have ever received: Boss Scud (we are one big family in our efforts to become more as men for others), for the skinny love: B (be your own thinspiration haha);  for the sweet message and food (read: cupcakes): K; for the bottomline-get-a-love messages: Aphet betch and Rain; and to the ones who made A for effort: Aay my F and Kennedu.

Thank you all. Kiss!
